Dr. G.A.M (Gertruud) Krekels
Dr Gertruud Krekels, MD, PhD, MBA is a Mohs surgeon since 1996.
She was a staff member of the Maastricht University Medical Center until 2003.
She was the initiator of a large randomised trial: Mohs surgery versus conventional surgery for facial BCC.
The results of this study were published in The Lancet in 2004/2008.
She was a teaching Professor at Catharina Hospital Eindhoven, Bravis Hospital Bergen op Zoom, and University Hospital Nijmegen.
In 2012 she opened Mohs Academy (MOHSA), a private clinic with her colleagues Dr Judith Ostertag, Dr Simone van der Geer, and Dr Marc Verhaegh.
MOHSA (located in Eindhoven, Venray, and Bladel in the Netherlands) is since 2024 part of Bergman Clinics.
She was a board member of the ESMS (Secretary and later President until 2012).
She is an international mentor of the American Society for Dermatological Surgery.
She was appointed as a teaching professor at the University of Technology in Eindhoven.
Her research focuses on skin cancer treatment, prevention, and effectiveness.

Prof. Leonardo Marini
Leonardo Marini, dermatologist and surgeon, has been Director of the Skin Doctors’ Center, a clinic specialized in Dermatology and Dermatological Surgery in Trieste, since 2005.
He is Past President of the European Society for Laser Dermatology (ESLD) and the European Society of Cosmetic and Aesthetic Dermatology (ESCAD).
He is Honorary President of the Hellenic Society of Dermatological Surgery (HSDS) and a member of the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology (EADV), where he has been appointed Vice Chairman of the Task Force for Laser Dermatology.
