Biography:
Klara Mosterd is a dermatologist and Mohs surgeon since 2009. She is working at the Maastricht University Medical Centre, a tertiary referral center for complex dermato-oncology. She is a member of the multidisciplinary head and neck team and responsible for the work-up and treatment of patients with skin cancer referred to the team. Furthermore, she is a certified teacher for Mohs surgery and also teaches surgical skills to residents in Dermatology. She was the founder and chair of a Dutch reconstructive course for dermatologists (Face it) and is also the founder of a national curricular course for residents in Dermatology during their 4th and 5th years of specialization. Furthermore, she has been a teacher in the curricular course for residents in their 1st, 2nd, and 3rd years. Over the years, she has gained extensive experience in surgical skills such as Mohs surgery, surgery of advanced head and neck tumors, and reconstructive surgery. Furthermore, she is trained in the diagnosis of BCC with optical coherence tomography. She is a member of the multidisciplinary team in the Dutch expert center for Gorlin patients. She is an associate professor and principal investigator of many clinical multicenter trials as well as molecular research concerning the etiology of BCCs.
