Biography:
Kai Munte is a dermatologist, oncologist, and Mohs surgeon (and Mohs trainer) from the Netherlands, practicing in the Maasstad hospital in Rotterdam. He was trained as a dermatologist at the Phillips University in Marburg, Germany. From 1999, he was a staff member in the Erasmus Medical Centre in Rotterdam, where he helped to build up Mohs micrographic surgery together with Martino Neumann. From 2003 till 2013, he was responsible for dermatologic surgery and Mohs micrographic surgery in the biggest Mohs micrographic surgery center in Europe. Many of his publications around Mohs micrographic surgery are from this time. He has performed approximately more than 7000 Mohs operations (frozen section technique) plus multiple operations using different 3D margin control techniques. At this moment, he is still performing Mohs micrographic surgery at two different locations, Maasstad hospital in Rotterdam and Mohsklinieken in Dordrecht.
