Biography:
Dirk Heylen studied Medicine and Dermatology in Leuven, Belgium (graduated 2000). He worked as a dermatologist in St Anna Hospital in Geldrop (Netherlands) from 2000 until 2015. He was trained as a Mohs surgeon in the Netherlands by G. Krekels, S. Van de Geer-Rutten, M. Verhaegh and J. Ostertag and recieved his ESMS qualification in 2014. In 2015 he started to work in AZ Turnhout (Belgium), where he introduced the Mohs micrographic surgery. Yearly, more than 200 Mohs procedures take place there nowadays.
